David W. Heflin, DVM
Graduated Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He became owner of Mission Veterinary Hospital in 1988 and developed an interest early on in equine medicine and surgery. He also has a keen interest in ultrasound diagnosis and recently laproscopic surgery. Dr. Heflin believes client education is the key to providing the best possible care for all patients.
Michele Fuentes, DVM
Graduated from Texas A&M University of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in May of 1996. After graduation, she moved to the Rio Grande Valley where she has been practicing at Mission Veterinary Hospital ever since. She has special interests in emergency and internal medicine, and enjoys the daily interaction with employees and clientele.

Diane deBruyn, DVM
Born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She graduated with a B.S. from the College of Agriculture of Life Sciences at Cornell University in 1988 and received her DVM degree in 1992 from Texas A&M University of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. deBruyn moved to the Valley and began practice at Mission Veterinary Hospital in the summer of 1992 and became a co-owner in August of 2004. She continues to enjoy all aspects of a mixed animal practice, but has a special interest in feline medicine.
Shelly R. Mitchell, DVM
Graduated from Texas A&M University of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in June of 2004. She returned to the Rio Grande Valley where she was raised and has been practicing medicine at Mission Veterinary Hospital since graduation. She has special interests in large animals, specifically in breeding cattle.

Catherine Clinton, DVM
Catherine was born and raised on a farm with horses and cows in Willacy County. She graduated from Texas A&M University of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in May of 2009. She joined the staff at Mission Veterinary Hospital in June of 2009 and is especially interested in Equine Reproduction, but really enjoys working with all types of animals. A few of her other interests include: traveling, horseback riding, and reading.
