Why Bulldogs To Pricey!! |

|
This is an email I have received a number of times on this very question and so we have added this
page to our website to help you understand this... The pricing of Bulldog puppies!!!
If you see a
puppy cheaper than wholesale pricing, then most if not always, there is an underlying problem with
that puppy.
The main reason and only
reason is because Bulldog puppies are the hardest to raise and the most costly puppy to raise. The
hardest females to get bred and they have small litters, (4) pups to the average litter. Bulldogs for the
most part, don't naturally breed. I in my years of breeding, I have never seen it. They will try, but
don't succeed. Below is the steps to breeding and raising a Bulldog litter:
1. Female (you watch for heats)
2. Heat detected (start progesterone testing)
3. What is a progesterone test? Draw blood from female and spin it down to pull off the serum, then
send it to a lab.
4. Average progesterone tests for breeding
5. Surgical Implant female (when did you ever see the word surgical and cheap in the same sentence?)
6. 60 days later, start watching for signs of labor and delivery (about 80% conception rate)
7. Progesteron test again to see if ready to delivery pups.
8. C-section delivery of pups.
9. Water pups? Bulldogs have more water or walrus pups than any other breed. (about 1 out of 10)
10. Start feeding process; Feeding schedule set 6am - 10am - 2pm - 6pm - 10pm - 2am and start again the
next morning at 6am every 4 hours for the first 5 weeks.
11. You can't leave the pups on the mom! Every 4 hours move them from their bed to the mother to let
them eat for 30 minutes. Remove and weigh and bottle feed (top off if needed).
12. You will bottle feed someone or all of the pups at every feeding.
13. Bulldog puppies from day 1 - 6 weeks have the highest death rate of any breed.
14. One person can't raise a bulldog litter.
look at the hours needed, thats 24/7 for the first 5 weeks straight every day no exceptions
I hope this helps you to understand the pricing of Bulldog puppies.
We as breeder love this breed , there is no other dog like a BULLDOG

Whenever I look for a puppy, I look at the breeder. I want to see if they
know what they are doing. What are they breeding for (size, color,
temperament, structure and breed standards) and do they know how to
breed...meaning, do they look at the pedigrees to produce the best pups.
What you want to know:
1. Do you own a male & female?
2. Can you get a copy of the pedigrees (very important)?
3. Look at the sire's pedigree. In a 5 generation pedigree, the male
should have at least 20 champions.
4. This is the only way you know that this is a quality pup.
Our male, Jackobi has 121 champions in a 6 generation.
Only smart, healthy, and structurally correct puppies come from
champion pedigree dogs.
